Day 22- Written test, Shopping

Hi everyone, the temperature today is 7 degree and it is getting cold when the strong wind blows.

We had our first project management written test which is on 5 chapters at 10-11.30am. A total of 11 pages and after which, we were released for class. It was only 11.30am so we decided to go somewhere new to shop.
老鼠街 (Lao –Shu-Jie) was our new destination.
Source taken from Google Map.

Boarding 702 from the bus stop outside the school, the nine of us made our way there ourselves. It was a new experience but we managed to reach there safely with the help of the announcement of the street made by the bus. I felt that this kind of system is very helpful and that for us foreigners, we really rely on these announcements that indicate the street name to reach our destination. With this, it had made our travelling in Wuhan much easier.
老鼠街 is like a wholesale shopping centre 捉刀泉(Zhuo-Dao-Quan), whereby goods from all the shops found in Wuhan can almost be found there at a bargain price for certain items. However, this mall does not really appeal to me and I think that the way 江汉路步行街 displays suits the shopping feel of mine.

The dog meat shop.
Only until evening, around 4plus pm, when we walked out of the shopping centre down the streets, the night life then started to be more interesting. Many pasam malam stores(地摊) were set up along the road sides. It gave me the feel of Singapore Sungei Road. We heard from one of the shop owner at老鼠街 that because of the tightened security happening around these days, there were lesser 地摊 along the streets. At first, this notice disappointed us, but when we went our way through the streets, there were so many things that we did not managed to shop finish in that few hours.

WARNING!
This was the quality of the public toilet we came across, where we paid 50cents rmb for it. A different experience in China.

Had claypot noodle for our dinner from the road side stalls, trying out new yet delicious food different from DuoLuoJie such as glutinous rice balls (汤圆), fried potato sticks, BBQ squids, bread that is baked using pan fry.

We walked across the streets to the nearby bus stop and there was no 702 back. Hence, we went to the bus 308 and asked if it stops at 建设一路. It was a private public bus, where the lady sitting in front will come and collect the bus fare of 1.50rmb from you even after you are seated instead.
The lady in circle is the one collecting the fares.
First to get up of the empty bus.

It also upholds the announcement system but it stopped after certain stops and we started to panic.
Along the highway.

Social skills then come into hand and I think that it is vital in life. We started asking some of the people on bus and there was this lady that overhead us asking that she even volunteered to call us alight the bus upon reaching.
