Day 13- Project Management Class

Hi everyone, today's temperature is amazingly cooling, with a degree of 10-21. It's currently 19 degree now.

At 9am, we had our project management class till around 11plus. All nine of us decided to go to duoluojie to have our lunch instead of the school's canteen because there's more varieties out there. Had their fried kway tiao whereby the taste of it here is much more salty. During lunch break, we also went to send our clothes to the laundry and because we wanted to save some money and divide the cost equally, we went off bargaining with the auntie from 23Rmb to 21Rmb.

We learnt cost crashing, direct and indirect costs etc. and did 3 assignments in a day. It was rather hectic and we had quite a long day today from 9am-4pm.
Having the thought of not going out far yet to satisfy our craving for 炸酱面, we walked to 建设二路 to have our dinner. We also went to the nearest bakery to buy our breakfast and even tried the do-on-the-spot love letters which cost us 3.50Rmb for 600g despite everyone were quite full from the 4Rmb noodles.

Reflection:
I feel that we should appreciate the price of the food when we're in China not only because our rate is about 5:1, but that we could easily satisfy our stomach in a short distance with a cheap price, whereby, everyday, having a meal of breakfast or lunch or even dinner along the streets are less than SGD$3 . Even their MacDonald have value lunch that cost about 15Rmb, set meals as low as 19/20Rmb. Nowadays, I can say that it is difficult to find such cheap yet filling food around in Singapore that we can save as much as what we're experiencing it now for food.

Day 12- IS class, free and easy

15 March, Monday
The weather ahead is better than what we had experienced for the first few days, which were freezing cold.

Together with Winnie, we went to duoluojie to buy breakfast for the rest of the four girls. I had 汤包and soy milk again which only cost me 4.5rmb to be full.
We had a deeper culture understanding of Wuhan, China. Wuhan has 14 neighbouring country whereby Hubei is in the middle and so, the people in Wuhan are considered the southern people since it is located at the south of China. There are more than 9 million people population in Wuhan and almost more than 6 million people are living in the urban lifestyle. Besides, there are many firms setting up in Wuhan. About 50 French companies in Wuhan, where major industries are optic-electronic, automobile, steel manufacturing, new pharmaceutical sector, biology engineering, new materials industry and environmental protection. Talking about natural scenery and rives, the Yangtze river is the longest river in China, yet the third longest in the world. ChangJiang is a river but not a lake.
Each country have different variety of local food, and so, Wuhan popular food are:

• 鸭脖 (Duck neck)
• 热干面
• 豆皮 (Bean pan)
• 汤包
• 面窝 (Salty doughnut)
• 武昌鱼, where it is taken upon to be the real one if it has 13.5 bones.

IS class ended early today. We decided to go back to 江汉路步行街to shop again.

Inside the 黑-T where we bargained from 40Rmb till 35 Rmb per ride.

It is how amazing that the driver could even agree to send us there despite we only knew that there was only one real chair placed behind and the rest were stools. Hence, Ron and Cynthia sat on those stools while we all squeezed into that chair.

The stores along the streets only opened at 6pm whereby 江汉路步行街 then become even more crowded. Cynthia went to take her photo shoot while we went off exploring the streets ourselves.

Around 6pm in the evening.

We came across this pharmacy. It's name and spelling attracted us because it sounds like some Thai language. All the workers inside the store were dressed smartly in their medical uniforms instead.

Reflection:
The most interesting thing we encounter today was that when we went to buy bubble tea from COCO, we had some misunderstandings with the person because of our kind of Chinese language we used in Singapore and the meaning behind it.
We wanted a cup of cold chocolate milk tea.
We said 冷的. However, they don't use this term here. So, the person told us that they have 冰的，温的，热的. Actually, 冷的 and 冰的 have the same meaning, which means cold.
Hence, I think that we should learn and adapt to the country's language when we are there so as to decrease the miscommunication between one another and get what we want and mean accurately since both parties are using the same language, Chinese, but maybe in the different style of usage.
