Day 8- Untoleratable coldness is going away. Project Management, Shopping!

Hi everyone, today's temperature is the best of all days, whereby despite it is 10degree, there's sun and that we can feel the heat, not as cold as what we had experienced!
Project management class was from 9am to 12pm today. Ms Neo let us off early, without the afternoon class. It's supposed to be IS class today, however, due to the misunderstanding and restructure of classsroom, today's lesson was being postponed to next Monday instead.
We had the cheap yet delicious 汤包 for lunch today! After which, we decided to go out to 江汉路步行街 for shopping ourselves. Outside the school, we went bargaining for the prices of the 黑-T ( a private yet illegal form of taxi whereby almost 9 person can squeeze in for a trip) and ended up with 40rmb for an hour ride.

江汉路步行街 is like our orchard road, a place where their branded goods and even international known brand such as nike and addidas is found there. However, besides that, there's still some streets nearby called 女人大世界. The prices are relatively low there but some stores do not allow bargaining.

MacDonald for a quick dinner because there is so much things to shop on.
On our way back, we decided to take a public transport after so many times of failing to flag for a taxi. People were running and snatching for it. Such that when the taxi stopped, one will rush into it even when the person inside the taxi had not paid and come out from the taxi fare.
We took 588 back. Because it wasn't the first time that we were taking public bus and that we knew of the situation, when the bus came, we held each other hands and ran after the bus with all other people even when the bus have not stop yet. Upon stopping, everyone gathered in front of the closed door, squeezing each other up the bus. The situation was very chaotic!

Amazing facts of where people want to squeeze up the bus instead of queuing up for it just like in Singapore:
  • They mainly want a seat up on the bus.
  • They want to board the bus.
Luckily all of us managed to squeeze up and had a railing to hold onto it. The announcement of every stop had given us convenience such that we hear for 建设一路before alighting as this is the first time we went up the public bus without the help of the local students.

Reflection:

However, this was a very good experience as I could not experience it in Singapore, and that we have a sense of satisfaction when we were able to board the bus out of all people ourselves despite the chaos.
Upon alighting, I'm surprised that our local students went all the way from their hostel to the bus stop out into the streets to fetch us because they said they were worried about us. Their responsibility makes me think that we should also learn from them in order to strive better in life.
