We had our final project presentation on project management. It was a sense of relief as in between these periods, besides going for classes and shopping in our own individual cliques, we were able to fork out time to meet up, discuss about our project, did up the Microsoft office project, AON, Cost Crashing, PowerPoint slides and the final report. There were hipcups in between the project such that redoing parts of it in many groups.
Project reflection:
I felt it is essential to determine the correct work breakdown structure and statement of work so as to have a guide to where our objective for the project begins. Through this, I get to make use of the project office to obtain automatic results such as resource leveling, AON, Gantt chart instead of manual doing. I learnt that the objective of project management is to optimize the project cost, time and quality from the over- allocating of resources examples and I find that it is important to find out the correct duration and cost so as to carry out our event successfully using project management steps.
As it was a rainy day, we decided to spend more of our time in the hostel and headed out to 建设二路 for dinner and SourceMe 发源地 for treatment again. It was surprising to see 2 of the hairstylists calling Winnie up saying that they were at our hostel doorsteps waiting to visit us. We had barely know each other for weeks yet their hospitality and friendliness had made us feel even welcomed in the saloon. We interacted in our hostel rooms for a while till they left. I appreciated their intentions of treating us well.
Reflection:
What I had discovered in SourceMe 发源地 is that they earned commission by the job they had done, such that when they washed a customer's hair, they were being recorded and take note of their number once the customer foot the bill. Besides, different stylist have different abilities and skills to what they are profession in and that they were called in numbers instead of their real names. Thus, they kept promoting their number, wanting us to call them when we go back there. In Singapore, we seldom see this kind of situation whereby the customer will have different stylist entertaining them and that they are able to request for the specific hairstylist to do on their hair for certain treatment as what the customer wanted to do will be done in one short by one specific hairstylist.
